Pendidikan Islam di Tengah Krisis Autentisitas: Menemukan Kembali Dimensi Sufistik dalam Pendidikan Karakter Digital

The digitalization of everyday life has fundamentally transformed how people form, present, and make sense of themselves, giving rise to what this article calls a crisis of authenticity, namely the widening gap between the self a person believes in and the self performed for recognition and social validation. Conventional character education, which tends to focus on shaping external behavior through rules and supervision, is considered insufficient to address this problem because it fails to reach the root of learners' internal awareness. This article aims to bring together three discourses that have largely been examined separately, namely digitalization, character education, and Sufism, through the shared problem of human authenticity. Using a library research method and a conceptual analysis approach, this article examines the Sufi dimensions of tazkiyat al-nafs, muhasabah, muraqabah, ikhlas, ihsan, and mujahadah as a framework for building the internal awareness relevant to the problem of authenticity in digital spaces. The findings show that these Sufi dimensions can be reconstructed into a reflective and transcendental framework for digital character education, one that moves from the question "is this action good" toward a deeper question, namely "why am I doing this, and does it align with the values I hold." This article offers a conceptual model of digital character education grounded in Sufi consciousness that warrants further empirical testing.
